As part of the FIRST government FinTech Week (Nov 7-11) in Hong Kong organized by InvestHK, ICE PITCH @FinTech Startups is a ‘100-hour Hackathon + Pitching’ event organized by Incu-Lab. It aims at inspiring FinTech ideas and promoting the growth of FinTech startups and the ecosystem.

Join ICE PITCH – FinTech Startups now via TWO TYPES of entry. Go for:

  1. ‘Team Entry’ if you are an innovative FinTech startup team (working on Asset Management, Capital Markets, Crypto-currencies, Financial Inclusion, Insurance, Lending, Payments, Peer to Peer, Platforms, Security & Authentication or anything related to FinTech) and looking for idea, business or technology breakthrough while creating social change
  2. ‘Individual Entry’ if you are a change-making entrepreneur / student passionate about FinTech and looking for opportunity to collaborate with an existing FinTech startup

Data Ng

CEO & Co-founder of Printact and 42Lab

Ph.D, BSc. (HKU), AMInstP

HKU Court Member and HKU Convocation Standing Committee Member

Data is an Experimental Physics Ph.D at the University of Hong Kong. He is a changemaker, maker and electronic hacker. Since Data acquired his first DIY reprap 3D printer in 2010, he has been practicing 3D printing. As an advocate for digital fabrication, Data founded Printact to promote 3D Printing to the public. In 2016, he founded a biotech startup – 42Lab which is a first portable biotech experiment platform for STEM eduction.

Data is also active in the entrepreneurship community and hosted several entrepreneurship events, including Startup Weekends HKU and Hackathons – AngelHack@HKU. He was invited to share his start-up experience at the University of Hong Kong, Fudan University, TEDxCUHK, Cyberport, Qianhai Houde Incubator and HKFYG.

Data also holds a Bachelor of Science with majors in Physics and Finance, and a minor in Astronomy from the University of Hong Kong.

Steven Lee 李根泰

Founder & CEO, MoneySQ.com

Mr. Steven Lee is the founder and CEO of MoneySQ.com, has nearly 20 years of experience in the loan market. With his thorough knowledge of loan products and relentless pursuit of innovations, he then established Konew FinTech Corporation Limited, focusing in developing various Fintech products – including K Cash and mtree.

MoneySQ.com is a member of the Konew FinTech Corporation Limited, a Hong Kong’s first crowdfunding for online lending platform. With the mission “Create Value through Sharing”, MoneySQ.com offers a flexible alternative for both qualified borrowers and smart investors to connect in just one click.

Ernest Lo

Founding President, IOTA

Founder & CEO of Future Impact Lab, gathered few like-minds from Google and HP to start a Data- and Design- oriented business using IoT to solve commercial, social, and humanity issues. Prior to that, Ernest founded an R&D arm in Hong Kong for a European Telecom R&D Institution working on Smart City projects.

Ernest was a Croucher Postdoc Fellow at Stanford University. He is the President of the Hong Kong Internet of Things Alliance, and Awardee of 3 IEEE Best Paper Awards from USA and Europe. He was the Advisor of 2015 Global Urban Datafest Hackathon (Shenzhen Chapter), Liaison Chair of 2014 European Wireless Conference, Chairman of 2014 Future Cities Asia Conference, etc.

 

Jehan Chu

Partner, Jen Advisors

Jehan Chu is a partner at Jen Advisors, an early-stage Blockchain Venture Capital firm based in Hong Kong. He has been a Blockchain evangelist since 2013, is the founder of the Ethereum HK meetup, Hyperledger HK meetup, and a founding member of the Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong. Jehan is a Google EYE Program Mentor, Vice Chairman of Para Site, Board Member of Design Trust, and Technology Steering Committee of the Asia Art Archive.

Eugene Chan

Lecturer in Social Media Studies & Former Social Media Head in Public Utilities

Eugene Chan is a digital strategist focusing ono social media, public engagement and social communications.

He previously served in-house as PR manager of MTR Corporation, playing the role of social media strategist. He headed up a compact team to work with a range of communications and operation colleagues, as well as managing digital consultant firms. He monitors, strategizes, plan and manages the public utility’s digital communication platforms.

Before that, Eugene was the Co-founding Head of Edelman Digital in Hong Kong and Taiwan, which is Edelman’s social media consultancy.

Eugene does not only have extensive knowledge in social media, but he also maintains a good relationship with staff, bloggers, key opinion leaders of key online media and social media platforms across the region.

He also brings extensive experience in managing various online media campaigns, benefited by his in-depth knowledge and understanding of digital media communications and consultancy towards social communities.

Eugene currently serves as Lecturer in post-secondary institution in Digital & Social Media Marketing courses and is also its Workshop Programme Director.
